Red Bull's Max Verstappen won the final race of the season, but Norris coming in third meant the Dutchman was unable to overcome Norris's points total from the season. Norris's teammate and title rival Oscar Piastri finished in second place.
Norris, 26, is the first British driver in five years to win the championship since Sir Lewis Hamilton in 2020.
